FAO NCVC Data Repository statistics
Saudi Vision 2030 and other national development strategies and initiatives puts environmental sustainability and sustainable management of natural resources at their core. This is not possible without access to quality environmental and natural resources datasets. This FAO-NCVC Data repository has been development to address this critical need.
The repository is prepared within the context of the Sustainable Rural Agricultural Development (SRAD) Project, executed by FAO and the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture (MoEWA) and implemented in partnership with National Center for Vegetation Cover and Combating Desertification (NCVC) for the natural resources pillar of the project.
NCVC staff and partners require access to wide range of environmental and natural resources data to delivery on its strategic objectives and programs. These data will support development of environmental regulation, standards, and guidelines; planning and management of rangelands, forests, and national parks; and combating land degradation and desertification.
Behold the national scene, KSA is a party to regional and international agreements and conventions such as the UNCCD, UNFCCC, and CBD. To implement and report on these agreements and conventions the Kingdom requires access to relevant datasets.
