Principal Component Analysis and Sand Dune Detection
The dataset was generated using Sentinel-2 SR imagery from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024. A cloud masking function was applied to remove areas with a cloud probability above 20%. The analysis focused on spectral bands (B2, B4, B7, B8, B11, B12), and the Normalized Difference Enhanced Sand Index (NDESI) was computed to highlight sand dunes. The final result was clipped to the area of interest and exported at a 100-meter resolution.
